I had gone to the ER for abdominal pain. It was a very long wait for anything to get done which I am not complaining about because there were a lot of people there and some in more trouble than I. The wait want what I was disappointed in. I was put in a room and the nurse gave me my gown and told me he’d get my boyfriend from the waiting room. Then about an hour later another nurse came in to check up on me. I asked her if I could have my boyfriend come back and she rolled her eyes at me and said yes. I then spoke with the doctor and he told me that I would need to give him a urine sample, bloodwork, and needed to have an IV. Over an hour passed and my boyfriend had to ask someone at the desk if he could come back and so he finally did. About an hour later nobody came for the blood and urine and I needed to use the restroom so I just gave my urine then. I had told the doctor that I had a UTI a week or so ago but the simptoms were gone. They then came and took my blood and gave me fluids. I waited about another three hours until a nurse came in and told me I was going home. She was very rude and said “you could have just told us you had a UTI”. Um. I did. That’s not the reason I’m here. I was very upset with the comment because I did genuinely think I had something wrong. I’ve never been in this amount of pain. They gave me antibiotics and sent me on my way. Now I’m laying in bed still in pain.
